Taken at -20. Not bad!

April - May 2012

At Paul and Olivia flew to the lower 48 and his cousin flew (same day) here for a day before leaving the next day for a cruise, so the kids and I took her to Whitter and Portage.  This and the picture below were taken in Whitter.  You can get there by boat or a tunnel that is only open one way on rotation.

                                                    Abby graduated from Pre-School.

Her class watched this butterflies from the time they were in a cocoon.  On the day of graduation, they released them.

Below:  Abby and the boys played Little League again this year.  Abby played T-Ball and Hunter and Simon played kid-pitch.  They had a great year.  Abby hit the ball to the fence, great hit!  Hunter and Simon really enjoyed pitching for their team and catching too.

Momma moose and her calves.  She recently dropped (birthed) them.  This was a street over from our house.

The week of Memorial Day, we went to the beach.  It was beautiful outside, cold water though.

Cooking out on the beach, our FAVORITE thing to do with friends!!!

These pictures were taken in Portage, when Paul's cousin was visiting.

This is what we refer to as "breakup".  It is how we refer to Spring and is a very wet time.

This cow and her calf crossed the street in front of us then crossed the pond.

Some good friends of ours, their boys were on the Dodgers, same team as Hunter and Simon.  They were numbers 1 and 2.  So of course, a picture was a must with Abby as 3, Simon 4, and Hunter 5.

Flying kites on the beach is so much fun!!

Feb./March 2012

These are some random pictures from the past 2 months.  The boys have enjoyed their cross country skiing lessons and Paul and I have enjoyed accompanying them on the trails.  In February, we have the Peninsula Winter Games, including ice sculpture contests.  We tried to get pictures with a lot of these amazing sculptures.  Yes, Hunter is wearing shorts and coat, and it is 35 degrees.  Natural lessons are the best learned... all I am going to say about that wonderful boy.  Love his drive for learning. Ha Ha!

Deep snow steps to get the mail.

Snow tunnel, Paul and the boys made to shorten their path to school.

We never get tired of seeing moose.

Is he having fun? Or is he stuck to the ice??

What a blast!!  So blessed that we have the privilege to do this in our yard everyday.... not that we do.

These 2 calfs, laying outside Fred Meyer.  I wonder if their momma was killed, very rare to see babies away from their mom.  Sals, momma moose, are NEVER far from babies, VERY protective!!

This was me driving through Cooper Landing with a friend (second week in March).  Girls day in Anchorage!!  The weather wasn't much better the rest of the 2 hours driving.  It was not snowing in Soldotna when we left.

Pretty woods on a sunny day.
